Arnie Jacobs

Arnie Jacobs’s career in sports began when he was still an undergraduate student at Arizona State. At age 19, Arnie quickly gained the reputation as the “Super Recruiter”. He recruited several top basketball players from his native New York City to attend ASU and Scottsdale Community Colleges in Arizona. “AJ” as he was quickly called, also was an announcer for ASU, calling many of their big games and even formed his own famous cheering section known as “Arnie’s Army”. In addition he helped recruit for ASU’s football and tennis teams.

Jacobs subsequently worked and recruited athletes for Gary Walker and Reggie Jackson’s United Development, who represented players in the NBA, NFL, and MLB. He then went on to work with Irwin Weiner and Billy Cunningham at Walt Frasier Enterprises, where Julius Irving, George Gervin, and Bob Lanier were clients. At Walt Frazier Enterprises, Arnie headed up the scouting department where he recruited players like David Thompson and Walter Payton. Soon after, Jacobs started his own agency, Super Star Sports Enterprises, where he represented players in the United States and abroad. He conducted scouting exposure services and has held US and international camps and touring teams, where players were able to develop, showcase, and market their talents

Arnie has coached standout teams in NYC’s famous Rucker Pro Summer League, and was the youngest owner/GM and coach of Minor League basketball team, NY Roundball.

After coaching, “AJ” went on to work with Don Cronson, sports attorney, who at the time represented athletes such as Too Tall Jones and Truck Robinson. With Jacobs’s help, the agency brought in players like Mark Jackson, Anthony Mason, as well as Jamal Mashburn. Arnie has also worked with Mark Cornstein at Pinnacle Management, where players in the USA and overseas are represented, such as Samuel Dalembert, Beno Udrich, and Darko Milicic.

Over the years, Jacobs has continued to advise and guide scores of players to Colleges and Junior Colleges across the country. Additionally, Arnie has written and published guidelines on: “Selecting A College”, “Playing Basketball Internationally”, “Advice To The NBA Hopeful, and “Getting In Killer Shape”.

Arnie Jacobs no longer works with any agencies or Universities, but has now developed Pro-Style BasketballWorkouts.com; an online service that builds on the legendary workouts that Arnie has conducted for over thirty years, where he became known as one of the country’s top trainers and motivators.
